About Kamiakin

Kamiakin (Kianto x Rafaga JIM) is a 2005 PRE stallion owned by Susan Treabess in partnership with Katie and Scott Hill of the Netherlands, and bred by Ami Machugh of Jackass Mountain Ranch.

Kamiakin is the first PRE to represent the United States in a World Championship. Breeding Information

We are pleased to offer high quality frozen semen for the first time to the public in 2017.  We are offering special introductory rates for all semen purchased prior to December 31, 2017.  Semen can be purchased by the breeding dose (with no LFG), or on a breeding contract (with LFG):

  • $500 / per breeding dose (no LFG)
  • $2000 / breeding contract (LFG) - PRE Mares
  • $1500 / breeding contract (LFG) - Non PRE mares
Additional details regarding purchasing and shipping:
  1. Each breeding dose contains 250 million progressively motile sperm.
  2. Resulting purebred PRE foals are eligible for registration with ANCCE, IALHA, and FPSH.  Cross bred foals are eligible for registration with IALHA.
  3. Semen purchased by the dose is allowed one breeding certificate.  Additional breeding certificates, should you breed additional mares off of one dose, may be purchased at a cost of $250 per certificate.
  4. Semen purchased on a breeding contract entitles the mare owner to a total of 6 doses of semen for the season (shipped in 2-dose shipments per breeding cycle).
  5. Breeding contracts require a $300 non-refundable booking fee. The balance of the breeding fee must be paid prior to the first shipment of semen. Semen purchased by the dose must be paid in full before any semen is shipped.
  6. You must notify us of a successful breeding no later than November 1 of the breeding season in order to receive a breeding certificate for that season.   We reserve the right to reject requests for breeding certificates after November 1.
  7. Payment for the breeding dose(s) can be made by either bank transfer or credit card via Paypal.  Unfortunately we are unable to accept paper checks.
  8. Upon receiving your payment, we will contact UC Davis to alert them to release your breeding dose(s).  You will then need to contact UC Davis directly to give your payment details for the cost of the shipping.
  9. You are responsible for all shipping costs.  Currently rates are as followed (as of June 8, 2017 - please check with UC Davis to verify these are still accurate):
